Yaku Rug

Only the longest and silkiest of alpaca furs are used to craft this Yaku rug. Yaku stands for “water” in Quechua, native language in the Peruvian Highlands. The rug holds a cushion of soft air in the fur, making it feel like a gentle breeze is blowing under your footsteps when you step on the rug. Like defying gravity. Each rug is unique, due to the natural materials being used. All rugs reflect light in a most surprising and beautiful way, creating a stunning  signature for any floor.

All our rugs are made of cruelty-free alpaca fur, meaning no animal was mistreated in any way to craft them. Alpacas are too valuable wool bearing animals to be killed for their fur. Only pelts from animals that have passed away by natural death have been used, thus you can enjoy the lustrous pleasures of alpaca fur with a clear conscience.

Front: natural alpaca fur; backing: suede cloth
Stuffing: softening layer of thermobonded wadding

Product can shed some wool in the beginning as a natural process, it is possible to fluff the rug outdoors to remove the loose fibres.
